As for the Official Generations of Pokémon, I imagined Pokémon obtained from fossils found during the player's adventure.
This Fossil Pokemon is acquired by reviving it from the “Strange Fossil” (item that can be found by digging in a certain area)
Its first form is inspired by Cryolophosaurus ellioti, a carnivorous theropod dinosaur discovered in Antarctica. Its evolved form is inspired by Dilophosaurus wetherilli, a large carnivorous theropod dinosaur discovered in China and Arizona.
Both alive during the Lower Jurassic era.
The link between these 2 Pokémon comes from the old false classification of Dilophosaurids, which placed Cryolophosaurus as a distant cousin of Dilophosaurus… since then the classification has been reviewed and these 2 dinosaurs are found in 2 very close but distinct groups.
The Ice type is mainly caused by Cryolophosaurus which means "ice crested lizard". But also because of a theory that would present the Dilophosaurus as one of the first large theropods to have developed proto-feathers.
I also left some hints about the Dilophosaurus from Jurassic Park, with the frill and the venom.
The Shiny makes Pokémons more clear, especially the evolved form. Changing black to dark blue, medium blue to almost white blue, and mauve to green.
