FAKEMON – Mega Baphlame

Mega Evolution of the Fire-type Starter:
Of all the gameplay mechanics that Pokémon games have offered in the last four generations, my favorite is Mega Evolution (soon to return in the next game, Pokemon Legends Z-A).
So, wanting to try my hand at Mega design, I decided to start with my trio of Starters, all with the common theme of "movie monsters."

For the Fire-type, I chose to represent Demons, from Possession or Horror movies. As a model, I was mainly inspired by the demon Baphomet. But for the Mega Evolution, I opted for another demonic deity, quite well-known in cinema, drawing inspiration from the Mesopotamian god/demon Pazuzu (who has appeared regularly in works of popular culture since the 1973 release of "The Exorcist"), while giving him frightening elements that accentuate his psychic and paranormal aspects, such as extra eyes.
To retain his animal origins, I kept his features, which blend sheep and goat, while emphasizing the animal's aging aspect, with a thinner face and more twisted or broken horns to give him a wiser appearance.

As for the Shiny, it echoes the basic Pokémon's idea of giving it darker colors to make it more ominous. But to further align it with the Pazuzu statuette, the Mega Evolution's colors have lost saturation, becoming grayer, and its flames have taken on a ghostly bluish-green hue.
