ZEROS Fauna – Panchronic Eurypterids

Planet Zeros has many panchronic species, but one of its animal groups is so old that it has known the appearance of the great dinosaurs and seen their near extinction.
Close relatives of horseshoecrabs and other arachnids, the eurypterids of Zeros (locally called Uripyons), unlike those of Earth, have survived the multiple extinctions that separate them from their appearance and the present day.
Fewer in number than at their peak, these species have adapted to live in tropical and equatorial climates, taking up residence in various aquatic (or semi-aquatic), marine or freshwater environments.
This animal board presents 5 genera that are quite commonly found:
1) Amadinopterus, a genus frequently encountered in mangroves and which are often nicknamed "Snake uripyon" (or Uripyon tèt koulèv).
2) Paracarcipterus, a close relative of the Carcipteres, which lives near streams and looks more like a large spider with long spiny legs.
3) Chabutopterus, very recognizable by its abdominal spines and its scimitar-shaped fin legs.
4) Scorpiopterus, a genus of Uripyon that likes the coast and sandbanks. Most have this almost square prosoma shape.
5) And Emysipterus, also called "Turtle-scales uripyon", typical of rivers and muddy streams, where it rubs shoulders with its friends Testudines.
